About the Director
Brandon Buckmaster is Director of the Howard County Violin School. Because of the cringeworthy sounds he made on his violin at 4 years old, Brandon’s parents replaced it with a silent, cardboard violin. This was only temporary, of course!
Years later, With a Master's degree in Music from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, Brandon has come a long way. In fact he has studied with world-renowned teachers, and performed with some of today’s great performing artists in Classical Music.
As a performer, Brandon has had the privilege of leading prestigious orchestras throughout the world as a concertmaster, including the Royal Conservatory Orchestra. As soloist, Brandon has been showcased by the Peabody Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony, and the Evansville Philharmonic.
Brandon loves teaching his students, and has a track record of achieving great results. His students include an International Violin Competition Prize winner in Seoul, South Korea, and concertmasters in the Howard County Public School Orchestras.
